Creating custom visual assets used to require dedicated design software or deep coding skills. In a recent project, Simon Willison demonstrated a practical AI workflow by feeding reference photos into Claude and asking for an animated pixel-art web page built on HTML5 canvas.

Rather than manually recording the screen to get a presentation asset, he used Claude Code locally to automate the next step. Through a simple text prompt, the tool generated and executed a Playwright script that opened a headless browser, simulated mouse clicks across the canvas to trigger confetti effects, and recorded a clean video file.

For beginners, this workflow highlights the power of chaining AI tools together. You can use an AI model to generate rich interactive components, and then use coding agents to handle repetitive tasks like browser automation, asset export, and testing without writing the underlying scripts yourself.
