TL;DR

1Lovable now lets paid-plan admins set credit usage limits and alerts, so surprise bills are easier to avoid (Oct 7).

2Anthropic's Claude Haiku 5.5 shipped as the new default Haiku model, priced at $0.10 input and $0.50 output per million tokens, per Claude Code release notes (Oct 7).

3Two Lovable AI models used inside apps are being retired, with the first cutoff on Nov 19, 2026. Check your apps.

Top Story: Lovable Adds Credit Limits and Alerts

On Oct 7, Lovable said workspace admins and owners on paid plans can now set credit usage limits and alerts. Limits can apply to the whole workspace, single projects, and individual members. Business and Enterprise plans can also set them for groups and access tokens. This comes from Lovable's own changelog, so treat the details as the vendor's description.

Why it matters for beginners: credits are the meter that runs while the AI builds your app. A long chat of fixes can burn through a month of credits faster than you expect. A cap and an alert give you a warning before that happens, so you can stop and rethink the prompt instead of paying for a loop of failed attempts.

Why it matters for business owners: if you hire a freelancer, or let staff build tools, you can now set a ceiling per person or per project. That turns an open-ended AI bill into a number you can plan around. Set the alert first, then the limit, and check it weekly for the first month.

Plans and Pricing

1Lovable credit limits and alerts (Oct 7): paid-plan admins and owners can cap and monitor credit use by workspace, project, and member. Business and Enterprise add groups and tokens.

2Lovable invite-only publishing (Oct 8): Free and Pro plans can now publish an app to an audience of workspace members or people invited by email. Publishing to a whole workspace or groups still needs Business or Enterprise, per Lovable.

3Claude Haiku 5.5 pricing (Oct 7): Claude Code release notes list it as the default Haiku model on the Anthropic API, with 1M context at $0.10 input and $0.50 output per million tokens.

4Claude Code cost display (Oct 9): Claude Code now prices Sonnet 5.5 cache reads at $0.10 per million tokens, down from $0.20, in its cost and budget readouts.

5Base44 Google Ads limits (Oct 5): Base44 says Google Ads campaign limits and daily budget caps rise with each additional clean paid invoice.

6Lovable model retirements (Oct 6 and 7): Gemini 3.6 Flash stops working for app AI features on Nov 19, 2026. Gemini 3.7 Flash stops on Jan 28, 2027, and Gemini 3.8 Flash is the suggested replacement, per Lovable.

Security Watch

1Base44 security scan (Oct 11): Base44 says scan results now show for each area as it finishes. Rerun the scan if you changed your app since the last one.

2Claude Code settings (Oct 5): release 2.1.290 says a project's settings files can no longer turn on Claude in Chrome. You must opt in yourself. This limits what a downloaded project can switch on for you.

3Lovable database changes (Oct 7): Lovable says database changes that could break a published app are now refused unless you enable a specific permission, and changes are saved as migration files.

Not Seen This Week

No new vulnerability disclosures or outages affecting AI-built apps were verified inside this week window. Bolt and Windsurf (now under Devin Desktop) had no verifiable entries dated Oct 5 to Oct 12.

Try This Week

1If you use Lovable on a paid plan, open workspace settings and set a credit alert at about 70 percent of your monthly credits.

2Check any Lovable app that uses Gemini 3.6 Flash for its AI features and switch it before Nov 19.

3Run a security scan on your newest app (Base44 and Lovable both offer one) and fix the first item it reports.
